The dissertation investigates approximation algorithms for several important submodular optimization problems with cost constraints. The research focuses on minimum-cost submodular cover, submodular maximization under constraints, extended k-cover submodular optimization problems, and submodular maximization with fair cost constraints.
The research develops efficient parallel algorithms with approximation guarantees that asymptotically match the best-known results while reducing parallel complexity. It also proposes bicriteria approximation algorithms for extended submodular cover problems, achieving improvements in both theoretical guarantees and experimental performance.
The dissertation defense was held at 9:00 AM on October 2, 2026, at the Graduate University of Science and Technology (GUST), Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), 18 Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Nghia Do, Hanoi, Vietnam.
